It kinda loses steam by the middle don't you think?

I thought this movie was worth watching and it was pretty funny. But it loses steam by the middle don't you think? It was hilarious in the beginning with all the cheesy lines like the John Handcock ( ) then in the middle I started to fall asleep. Humor was all the carried it. But it ended in a good way I think.

Pirates? As in "arrrgh"?

Nonsense. I think this movie remained funny throughout. I mean, come on. You had Satan saying he was going to Disneyland. Then he turned those money-hogging evangelists into a giant pinata. Then he turned Father Mayii into a nun, Rambo, and that Marx Brother I forgot the name of. And it also taught me something important about defending myself against evil forces: Rock and roll repels Satan (unless it's Marylin Manson's music. That will more likely *attract* the Dark Ruler).

I usually have a good sense of humor, but I only laughed like two, or maybe three times... I was pretty disappointed!

What shall it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, but loses his own soul?

Actually, my favorite scene is near the end, the "Devil in a Blue Dress" sequence.

I like the part where she stops the movie and you see Mr. Nielsen on the phone.

My weird sense of humour was tickled when Fru-Fru was chucked into the compactor as the workers say "Bye Bye Fru-Fru" in unison...

And the roll call sequence where the Mormon Tabernacle Choir "spoke" up...

My favorite scene is when they're in the gym.

I thought it stayed hilarious throughout. The only draggy part is the overlong "Devil in a Blue Dress" part, but even that was forgivable.

The sequences where Mayaii & possessed Nancy were the best.

It was even a little scary in spots. When Luke tries to stand up to possessed Nancy:
"In the name of God, I demand you stop this charade!"
"You? Demand?! You're not in a position to demand dick, altar boy!"

"You had no skills, were totally untrainable. And your SAT score was under 400"
"Shut up!"
"So you had two choices. Join the Church...or the US SENATE!"

Great lines!

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

I enjoyed it a lot, before I was even old enough to watch "The Exorcist." XD It's not perfect but there's definitely some funny stuff. It's got a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, which I don't think is fair at all. I've sat through some really awful parody movies ("Date Movie," "Disaster Movie," "Epic Movie") and I didn't laugh once at any of those. THOSE deserve the 0. They aren't even making fun of anything. Just referencing it. Sometimes repeating lines from what they're parodying verbatim, with no sense of irony or anything. If a parody can make you laugh a little, then you came away with something. But trust me, it can be so much WORSE.
