Much worse than I remember
Horrible dialog, muddled plot, godawful score, too much hamming, not a single likable character (or even one that can be associated with) and the race message is hammered, hammered, hammered over the viewers head. After that it is spelled out to them nice and slow... 5 times. This is a movie for people who stay awake at night wringing their hands over whether or not they might be subconsciously racist.
There is one reason to see this movie; Nick Nolte's awesome performance. Assante is good too but, yikes, that dialog he has to deliver.
