Why isn't Torch in the rest of the movies?

Why isn't he in none of the other sequels after this? He was the most bad ass puppet of the bunch. I mean the ending of this movie shows him riding off in that car so if any returned in the next one you'd think it would have been Torch.

Was he scrapped because of the flamethrower aspects and they just didn't wanna bother with doing his effect anymore?

Torch is an expensive, and probably even dangerous prop to work with, so that is why he has not appeared in very many films. Charles Band however commented on the Blu-Ray commentary that he would like to see Torch return, but don't take that as a guarantee.

Part 3 was a prequel anyway, set long before he was created so that can be blamed on surprisingly good continuity. This series is not well known for that.

I'm not sure why he wasn't in Part 4, but is in its direct sequel Part 5. According to the director Jeff Burr both films were in early stages meant to be one film, but dividing them into two may have resulted in several scenes being cut from the script(s), and therefore maybe even omitting Torch's scenes from Part 4 altogether. That or most of the original planned film was used in Part 4, leaving new scenes needed for Part 5, and perhaps Torch was really nothing more than filler to help make the next film feature-length, continuity be damned. But these are only my theories.

Yeah part 5 seriously makes it appear that Torch was supposed to have killed one of the Totems in part 4. The Totem in 5 looks surprised that Torch's flame couldn't harm him. But Torch is omitted because he's expensive to use. It's a shame really considering he's a fan favorite and my personal favorite.

I can't see him being that expensive or time consuming, six shooter is clearly the hardest puppet to work with having six arms needing to be puppeteered. When I saw Curse there is a scene where six shooter spins a rope above his head, I thought to myself that's probably where all the budget went. Torch is clearly cheap and impressive but will cost more than most of the puppets what with the need for fuel.

I personally think he is just edited out of all the films in order to sell a future copy of them, obviously a lot of fans would watch the films again if they were extended. Just looking at the VHS covers you can see that the other puppets could easily be added on to them as there is a lot of empty space on them.

There comes a time to put away childhood things. But some things just won't stay put!

the scene of Six Shooter swinging the rope is actually from Puppet Master 4, the scene was edited into Curse.

Another reason Torch was hardly used again may been because he flat out looks evil, more so than any of the others. After PM2, they made the puppets good guys.

More Torch and Leech Woman needed

Looks evil? He WAS evil which is probably why they never used him again. He’s a child killer. He killed that kid, even though we never specifically see it, it’s implied. Which is why I guess the producers felt that they went too far with him so he was never brought back. At least thats why I think.

Yeah I really wish he could have been in more of these movies. He’s really cool.
