Why didn't Stuckey punch Edward back?

Because Stuckey's living depends upon Edward's good will, and also because Stuckey is very much a Beta Dog in Edward's team.

Listen carefully to what Edward and Stuckey shout at each other right after the punch:

Smug prick?? Stucky was just about to rape Vivian. He called her a hooker & was going to rape her! He also belted her across the face & knocked her to the floor.
I know she was a hooker but she didn't deserve rape, no man or anybody has the right to treat women or anybody like that.
If I were Vivian I would have belted stucky right across the face.
