Labors going berserk all over the world? (Spoilers)

After reading some of the comments on here, I don't think I'm hallucinating - did the the english dub of the Manga Entertainment release mention that the sound waves emanating from the Ark would be spread through the earth's crust to *all labors around the world*? That was what I distinctly remember from when I first saw Patlabor I several years ago on TV. I was sure that I heard that when I was writing a response to a thread on the Macross Plus forum, but now I'm uncertain.

However, I have the latest release from Honneamise/Bandai Visual, and it doesn't mention that at all - not in the sub or the dub. The implication is that the destruction would only be seen in the Tokyo Bay area. Which version is right? Is it possible Manga Entertainment was just playing around with the dub again?

I own this movie in the Italian dubbed version (which was distributed by Manga Entertainment too). There is no mention about spreading all over the world: only labors in the Tokyo Bay area would be affected.
