The two boys,
that were being interviewed in the middle of the night..... what ever happened to them?
sharethat were being interviewed in the middle of the night..... what ever happened to them?
sharei always wonder that myself
shareMe also. My guess is they're probably successful guys now in NY--at least I HOPE they are! I wish there had been a followup to this but, since 19 years have passed, I don't think there will be. Anyways most of the characters have probably passed away because of AIDS.
shareThey were amazing. I so hope that they are now sucessful. Although living rough as a teenage gay in New York was probably not the best start.

David Traversa. Hi homeworldpilot: One of the boys, becoming adult, was president of the USA for one term and did very well, the other boy was awarded a Nobel price for a very deep research about something or other (I don't remember what now). That shows we should never judged people for their looks or backgrounds.
Why would you say such BS?
shareI've always wondered too.
shareTo the OP
Most likely they continued their prostitution went to jail or got murdered. Too bad they were beautiful.
I didn't even realise they were prostitutes. NYC really was a seedy place in the 1980's.
shareThe 'chattier' of the two (the one without a mother) was named Anthony. He was, at the time, hussling around the meat packing district. I don't know how long he stayed in the sex trade. At one point he was competing in the balls as a transgender male-female. As far as I know, he's still alive, but was always described as 'careless' - even more so than Venus.
The other one (the one with the mother) is still male, in case you're interested, and the only thing I ever really found about him was that he was adopted (not sure if this was before or after the documentary) and that he went to college.
how did you find that out?
shareI've done quite a bit of research into the scene for my PhD, which focuses on a correlation between the 'push' mentality and unacceptance of gay and transgender in society in the 1980s, and criminal behaviour (mainly drugs and the sex trade) in an effort to sustain the lifestyle in New York.
My research was heavily inspired by this documentary, and along the way I've tried to find out what happened with the cast. The two boys were really compelling to me, along with Brooke and Carmen.

That's a terrible thing to say! Nothing those two kids said indicated that they were prostituting themselves. They looked like they were having a blast in a city that was once very exciting. They also looked streetwise, and that meant that they knew how to survive. Why would you think they got murdered?

Alyssa LaPerla is someone else entirely. She has been walking for a long time, and is much older than the two boys.
shareHere's the latest update on the two boys, the boy in blue is doing well, there's no update on the boy in white yet https://youtu.be/wQGEdTUnEkE
