Don't show this film...

...to anybody about to go into hospital. It'll scare the poop out of them!

Brilliantly written and acted it is scarily believable.

Why is this film not available on DVD?

reply

I've long wanted to see this on DVD, and with the imminent release of The Monocled Mutineer (also starring McGann of course) I check for uddates at Amazon quite often. No news as yet. Having said that, both Lovefilm.com and tescodvdrental.com list the film as available to reserve. Both sites also feature the original trailer for the film:

I see it's being released by Guerilla Films, as part of something called 'The Forgotten Classics Collection'. Thing is, as I can't find a single other DVD under that collection heading. I'm assuming it's the first of its kind. It'll be interesting to see what's next.

Here we go: http://www.guerilla-films.com/ There's some interesting titles there, including The Good Father, one of my fave Anthony Hopkins films.

Watching Paper Mask now, after years of not ahving seen it. That's an interseting list for sur. Always wondered why the Gary Oldman- Alan Bates film We Think The World Of You was never available and has never been shown on TV or anywhere I've ever seen.A very rare film.Out in April, can't wait to see it; an Oldman film I've neverseen that's yeas old.

It wouldn't scare me. I'd be glad to see a working class lad and ex-porter get far. I'd expect to be treated far better than someone like him (i.e. my own kind) than one of his condescending and snobbish but legitimately qualified medical colleagues.

Awkward time to watch it from the hospital bed.
