Why no sequel?

This movie cries out for a sequel. Sister Act II was OK, why not Eric and Robbie again? I suppose Robbie prefers being a dramatic actor between Harry Potter films. He's equally talented at both and one of the few classic character actors to avoid being typecast. He worked with Eric on "Billy Connolly: A BAFTA Tribute" (2002) so I don't think they have any problem getting along. I suppose they just couldn't find a mutually free time in their busy schedules. Perhaps the original was not a good enough financial success to support another. These days, sequels are generally pre-arranged when shooting the original. Too bad, I'd really like to see them together again, if not as Nuns then in any comedy, even a TV series.

Imagine Case and the boys catching up to the two in Rio for more madcap hilarity. That's what I'm hoping for.

reply

Yes, would be nice for a sequel!
Dont understand why people dont like this movie as much .....

reply

It'd be great for a sequel, but I think It's one of those movie that can be only done as one-off.

reply

Yes, I guess that is unfortunately true, largely due to the simple fact that it is unknown.

I really enjoyed it though.
It seemed to have a very small budget, wasnt an action thriller or anything, but still an hilarious duo doing what they do best.

If anyone has info in the amount of budget that was available, the time allocated to shoot etc, please fill me in. I would be happy to hear from you.

Okay... did it do really well over in the U.K.? Cause it's pretty obscure in America.

reply

Its not that obscure, I'm American and I love this film. Would love to see a sequel!

Shame no sequl, but be nice, called be called Nuns meet Nurses
(Nurses on the run), a differnt story line , and of course they as Nurses and
having sort of the same as when police officers strip off nuns uniforms do as same as Nurses !.

What you think

In my experience most sequels just dilute the impact of their quality forerunners. I'm glad most of my favourite British films never had sequels - and that certainly includes Nuns on the Run.

I'm writing all this down in my memoirs so if I grow up twisted & warped, the world will know why.

reply

I'd hate to see a sequel to such a hilarious movie unless it was of the same or better quality. It's criminal when a crappy sequel is made just for the paycheck.

The potential is there...Charlie, Brian and Faith in Rio, maybe with a child (named Charity?), with Case and his boys after them after being released from prison?

reply

It doesn't need one (unless they do one where 2 women try to pass off as Priests).

and island getaway film nuns in the sun.
