How come one of the zombies in the cemetery was able to use a brick to smash the window of the Mercedes Barbara was in?

Also mentioned in the original DAWN that the undead could use tools in a rudimentary fashion. Such as clubs or bludgeons.

I wonder if iq in life had an effect in death on the abilities of a ghoul?
