HDTV version blows away TT's crappy blu

If you can find it, download it. This is the version we've seen for the past 22 years and the colors look great and the film has detail. Don't buy the crappy blu-ray. Those who say the blu looks great are in denial and don't want to admit they got ripped off.

I agree with you!

The DVD absolutely smokes the blu-ray in picture quality.

I'm a fan, and the new hue is simply unacceptable. I wouldn't buy it from a Wal-Mart $5 bin, let alone the stupid prices Twilight Time charge. I returned mine after viewing it, and got my refund. Bought the DVD of NOTLD'90 and the 4-disc box set of Dawn of the Dead for about $15 on Amazon.....and it was most definitely a much better buy than Twilight Time's "NOTLD'90: Totally Smurfy Edition"!

Not really. If you have to have everything look identical, then maybe. Personally, I think the new transfer looks better than it used to. Tom Savini happens to agree. The changes make this appear to be a much higher budget movie than it actually is. A lot of the screen comparisons going around are exaggerated purposefully, and spread around by people that are bitter over not being able to buy the release.

I agree with that. I do think people are upset that they were denied this title in a twisted dbl fk, first being the low quantity and second the price. However, I don't care how many copies I have or don't have, someone needs to put a stake through Twilight Time's heart because these movies should be available to everyone and reasonably priced. Yes, Fright Night is a cool movie, but this one... it's always been a bit of a turd and in no way deserves this much attention or controversy. People are acting like this is a great movie and it's not.

If you don't mind seeing an altered version, more power to you. I prefer seeing films the way I remember them.

It's true that Sony should stop this limited edition *beep* and make films available to everyone and not just scalpers who buy multiple copies and sell them at ridiculous prices. Who would pay 200 bucks for a blu? Morons, that's who. Be patient and 5 years from now someone will release the corrected version or maybe Sony will smarten up and make it available to everyone. Anyways, it's true that the remake of NOTLD is no classic.

Anyways, the future of film collecting is downloading and physical media is on it's way out. One day nothing will be limited anymore since you'll just have to download it direct from Sony.

*beep* Twilight Time and all those who are for this limited edition *beep* Maybe they should think of limiting sales to 1 per customer instead of selling a limitless amount to scalpers who take advantage of week minded fans with too much $ in their pockets.

There is seeing the film "the way you remember it" and seeing it the way the director wishes it to be seen. The director wishes it to be seen as the Twilight Time release is presented. It's also not SONY that are releasing these discs, or deciding to do them limited. It's a company leasing the titles from SONY for release. It's a small company, which is why the releases are as limited as they are.

Actually, Tom Savini had nothing to do with the Twlight Time release or the blue tint that the studio did to the print they gave Twilight Time.

The Umbrella region free Blu Ray is best. I'm watching it now and the detail and clarity is worth the $20

I had picked a copy up of that too. Not only is there no blue tint but you get new special features and all the features ported over from the DVD release.
