Is it just me...or....?

Is it just me, or does the 'night of the fox' not get the credit it deserves?
I've bought it a few weeks ago, and I was pleasently suprised. The acting is not all it could be, and even the story seems somewhat doubtfull at one or two minor points, yet the whole is more than the total of its parts (to quote our ancient friend Aristotle). I somehow really liked the casting, (for instance) I liked seeing Gottfriend John (who plays Hofer) again, who I only knew from Goldeneye. George Peppard did a nice job, though at some points it looked a little like the auto-pilot was on and he wasn't trying. Not much more to say at this point, i'd have to let it sink in a little more (i've just finished watching it).
