Where was entire film shot at?

I live in San Diego, Chula Vista to be exact, and I'm trying to figure out where they filmed the scenes of Steve Martin's neighborhood, the grocery store he shopped, the mini-mall where he met Johnny Bird, the restaurant where he met up with his old criminal pals, and all that other stuff. I recognized downtown area shots, the Coronado bay bridge and Hotel DEl, and of course Qualcomm stadium when it was named Jack Murphy still. I'm starting to think if the neighborhood where Steve Martin lived is the Rancho Bernardo, Escondido area or even Poway area as well. IF anybody hapens to know the locations, get at me please. I've loved this film since I was 9 years old, and I'm 24 now. And it's been buggin me for 15 years to know where the other scenes where shot. However, I wouldn't be surprised if most of it was shot in Los Angeles but they covered it up as San Diego.
