i realize there are plenty of answers to this question, but what happened to the whole "baseball dome" project? i thought he was building a dome because at the baseball game when they were walking out, he said they should have the first little league dome in history. u could say it fell through because their wasn't enough money, but that wasn't explained in the movie. any other thoughts?

just to clarify, im not insulting this movie in anyway. it is a hilarious comedy and i watch it whenever it comes on. so please dont bombard me with "why can't you just leave the movie how it is?" or "why does everything need to be explained in the movie?"

I noticed it to. I just put it down to them running out of time and not thinking that is was a very important point.
That's my guess and I'm stuck with it.

good point,, it would have been easier just to take the line out.
not a great fan of steve martin but I think he was at his best in this film.
great movie and very underated, I enjoyed this better better than most of the
films that have been nominated for oscar.

Also the part about his marriage to his second wife seemed completely redundant and unnecessary if he was going to end up with the officer all along. It made no contribution to the storyline. And the dome thing... well, as usual it was one of his get-out-of-jail-free lies. But when push came to shove, he just ended up building a good stadium dome or not and left it at that. Ah... it's the movies.... whaddaya gonna do...
