Just bought it today...

I picked it up for $3 at Big Lots. Can't wait to watch it. Looks super good.

Really? How did you like it? I haven't been to big lots lately but I've never seen this film in the one in my area.

Rest in peace Peter Falk, you will be missed.

Yeah, it's at Big Lots for 3 bucks. I picked up a copy in Meadville, PA.

Wow! I ordered it online and it cost a lot more than $3. I probably should have waited because there was another movie I wanted that I'm SURE is not available in stores. I should have at least checked first. Oh well.

Yeah, brand new for 3 bucks -- you can't beat that. But I haven't seen "Murder in Mississippi" at many of the Big Lots stores, you really have to search. If I'm not mistaken, I only saw it at the Meadville, PA, store.

Needless to say, search and you will find.

Ah, that made me feel a little better. I won't even check on my next visit since I already bought it. So how did you like the film?

I liked it. It's not as good as "Mississippi Burning" as far as overall filmmaking and entertainment go, but "Mississippi Burning" was a major theatrical release. "Murder in Mississippi" is surprisingly good for a Grade-B tv flick. It's definitely a solid prequel.

It also made me reflect on things days after seeing it. The following weekend my wife & I were eating at a Dairy Queen in a mainly white area. The place was pretty busy and I saw 3 black families amongst the mostly white crowd. Everyone was having a great time and it was all peace & harmony. Yet it wasn't like this a mere 50 years ago in some parts of the South (and other parts of the country too, I'm sure).
