However, it COULD be a reference to the fact that Hamilton is most renowned for her role as Sarah Conner in T2- a major "girl power" kinda character that is very similar to Sigorney Weaver's Ellen Ripley in the Alien franchise. That's pretty thin though.

I think so, I'm watching the film now for the first time, I actually never heard of it before. Its really good up to now, the second she said he name Ellen Jane Ripley I was like OMG, what year did this come out, I had to check the date so it must be like an in-joke love Ripley so was glad to hear it.
