Did anyone notice?

The Richard Burton character had ever changing facial hair from scene to scene. When he came back and was with Isabella he had a moustache and then in the wedding scene he had a full beard. The time frame did not suggest enough time had past for him to grow a full beard. And then after the wedding the beard was gone and then it was back. Continuity efforts must have failed.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Occasionally I'd ask myself, "Wait a sec, is this Burton's beard phase or his 'stache phase?" The movie kinda goes back and forth on that. Might be a continuity error.

The movie jumps months at a time with a single edit. Many historical films are like that, though it can be confusing for the viewer.
The facial hair is consistent for that, It's not it's changing within scenes, or anything.
