Found Mother Goose Rock N' Rhyme on DVD

Didn't know if anyone was aware of this or not, but I did find an auction on Ebay for Shelley Duvall's Mother Goose Rock N' Rhyme on DVD. I just won mine! (YAY!) Also have my little sisters hooked on it (YAY!!!!) Here's the link if anyone is interested:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270124784436&ssPageName=MERC_VIC_RCRX_Pr4_PcY_BIN_IT&refitem=270124757811&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=closed_view_item&usedrule1=CrossSell_LogicX&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget

I believe I found it by typing in Shelley Duvall.

No bootleg! Just checked my mailbox and it was here in two days. It's the complete edition, which means you get to see Katy Sagal as Mary Quite Contrary (and a very fake gopher). According to the copyright on the DVD, the release was in 2005. Good condition, but not in it's case. However, I got it and am so glad I don't have to search antique malls anymore just to find it.

As far as MP3's go, it might not be in MP3 form as it would be in WAV or something like that on an unofficial site.

No problem! I know what a pain it is to find it on DVD. Believe me! I went on a wild goose chase (haha! goose...get it? Yeah...no.) looking in a lot of antique shops and online. I figured that I found ebay (a miracle) I would give out the link so people didn't have to keep hunting it down. However, I checked back on ebay because someone said they couldn't find it and it's not up right now (except for the VHS). It'll probably be back again. I think the user name is auctioneer242.

I was thinking maybe I should create a website that could help people find it on DVD. Something like MotherGooseRockNRhymeHelpline.com Hm...Ah, the gears are turning in my head (they're a bit rusty. lol)

there's a website with it on there? Hm...Do you have the link??? Yeah I wouldn't buy it. For all you know it could be Rock N' Rhyme in Japanese. Although that would be funny to watch...yeah, no. I'll keep a look out though to see if there are anymore on ebay.

I concur! Though, I am in no medical field...Yeah, it's once in a full blue moon you will find Rock N' Rhyme up online. It's just like all things on ebay, you just have to hunt it down. Fortunately, it was just that one day. Which surprised me, because I was fed up on looking for it. I've got the guy who I recieved it from on my favorite sellers. It's set up now where I recieve e-mails from ebay with the alert: "FAVORITE SELLER WITH NEW ITEM" or something like that. For those, who are having a difficult time looking for it, I can always let you know whenever I get the alerts from that-there ebay. Just as a thought.

If I recall, Disney has a strong hold on Rock N' Rhyme. It also has a strong hold on Nightmare Before Christmas and they only sell an ex-amount of copies and then it becomes a hard-to-find-item. Or any of the movies that are in the "VAULT". Perhaps, a gimmick??? I don't even remember hearing or seeing a commercial for Rock N' Rhyme coming out on DVD. Well, I might have but knowing my brain, I have a hard time remembering things. Heh...Another theory is that if it was released on DVD in 2005, then it is possible that it didn't make enough profit in sales and they just didn't produce anymore. Who knows...But I do know what a pain it is to find it. And when you find it, you break out into an immediate happy dance or jig (which is almost the same thing, only, one is more bouncier than the other.) Well, atleast, mine turn out that way. :)

In my opinion if they can release Shelley Duvall's Fairytales (I think that's what it's called) then they can release Rock N' Rhyme.

The most recent one on ebay. I'll keep a look out for any more.

thanks! yeah just helping out the fellow fans. do what I can.
Eh, to each their own as the lady kissed the cow. I vary on fairytales myself.

I agree, Disney is just a little (and when I say a little, I mean A LOT). In my opinion, it's all about the profit.

Great! Glad to hear you scored a copy. :) I got another e-mail informing me that another one is being sold. I'll post up the link in a minute. Gotta get something for my throat since it is quite soar. Caught it during vacation. :( And yet I have to go to work. Hopefully, they'll say I can go home (doubt it).

The one I recieved is the one with the added scenes (i.e. Katey Sagal as Mary Quite Contrary and Old Mother Hubbard). So it is the complete edition.

There are two movies. One is "Mother Goose in Rhymeland" (I believe that is the title). "Rhymeland" is the edited version (without Katey Sagal in it and the music is different---in fact, the music is constantly playing) and was premiered on Disney. That's the one everyone seems to remember (it's also the only version featured on Youtube, if you've found it on there). "Mother Goose Rock N' Rhyme" is the complete edition (as I've mentioned before) and that's what's on Ebay right now.

So to answer the question, same movie, but two different versions. Which makes no sense, but what the hey...

well there's both movies out there. but the one on ebay is the complete edition. I'll have to find out if the other version is out on DVD.

The other (edited) version had the words with the bouncy ball in the dungeon scene (which my two sisters like to sing now. It's actually really funny hearing them sing it) I remember seeing the version, that you mentioned, was from the complete edition. It's confusing, in my own opinion. I never understood why there's two versions of the movie, but whatever...Hope my information helped!

Yeah, I'll have to try that, because that's very interesting. Shame though, it's not the real shibang, but it's nice to have some form of it.

reply

?!? OMG! I do apologize for that. Hm...I'll have to try that. I wasn't sure...but..eh..it plays and that's all that matters. Gah, that sucks. I am sorry though. I had some suspicions. Well...hm...I think we should do some form of petition to get this on DVD.

Any takers???

I muchhhhhhhh prefer the shorter version. I guess its because my mom taped it for me when it was on the disney channel back in 1990, and thats the version that I grew up on and loved. The music is better too I think, in the full version it sounds too kid-ish.

Wow, disgusting. You have no right to distribute someone's copyrighted material.

reply

[deleted]

Yeah... you're right. 75% of the world's internet using population stealing peoples' hard work, suddenly makes it right.

I SEE YOUR LOGIC THERE! HUR HUR!

Thinking is something everyone should do.

reply

[deleted]

Really? Did you hack into my computer and look at my download records? Do you know that for a fact?

Just because you break the law and don't give a damn, doesn't mean that I do too. You're just an amoral piece of trash. Don't assume everyone is the same as you, even if most scumsuckers on the internet are.

reply

[deleted]

"Immoral" and "Amoral" are two different words with two different meanings. "Amoral" is the word that fits here. Don't make some idiotic statement like that when you have no idea what you're talking about.

reply

[deleted]

So what you're saying is that humans have no free will, and because the majority of people on the internet are amoral lowlifes, everyone has to be?

I honestly don't give one flying crap whether or not you believe me. I know that I don't download copyrighted material. Why do I care whether or not some criminal piece of trash believes that I don't?

reply

[deleted]

Stop putting words in my mouth. I don't give a damn whether or not you believe that I don't steal peoples' hard work. I also don't give a damn about what you think. I do, however, give a damn that the private property rights of hard-working individuals are being violated by lowlife trash like you who's too cheap or lazy to work so that you can afford to pay these people for their work.

There is no hint of being defensive in any of my posts. You are seeing things that aren't there. And don't accuse me of being "in denial" when you yourself can't even admit that you're a criminal for stealing someone's property without compensation.

reply

[deleted]

Alright, you're clearly too stupid to continue arguing with.

reply

[deleted]

Who's looking stupid? The person who made some mindless assumption that I do something amoral and illegal, just because said person does. That is stupidity above all else.

reply

[deleted]

"You're still going, huh?"

LOL, I could have easily said the same thing when you tried to get the last word before my reply. Don't try to make yourself look like you're above that childish bullcrap. Try arguing something relevant.
