alternate version

Hey, so has anyone noticed there are two versions of this movie?

I used to watch a version I recorded from Disney yeeeears ago until it got taped over. Then I ordered the VHS version and I noticed there are some differences from what I can remember.

Things from the NON vhs version

1. a bouncing ball over the lyrics in the dungeon during the song
2. different chase music during the crooked man scene
3. mary quite contrary and a man during old king cole's scene are cut completely
4. mary lamb, mary quit contrary, and little miss muffet are introduced in a different order

Okay, I'm a big dork...

Nooo, you're not a dork. Since 1990, Ive always had the Non-VHS version that was taped from the disney channel (shortened by like 15 mins) and thats what made me love it so much. But when my tape got damaged, I got another one in like 2004 (the vhs one) for Christmas. And I was like WTF. It was weird. NONE of the music was the same. So I went searching and I found that Mother Goose Rock N' Rhyme is the VHS version and Shelly Duvall's Rock n' Rhymeland is the shortened version from the disney channel. Its available on ebay. So now IM happy, I have the one that I have always loved as a child and I know that if it ever gets damaged, the name of it is Rock N' Rhymeland and that I can get another one. I hope that helped you out.

Are you kidding???
The first time I saw the movie was back in 1994 on the Disney Channel.
um...I don't remember 'Mary Quite Contrary' at all.
S'pose I never saw the full version before...sniff.

The movie really needs a decent DVD release...the whole version.
sigh.

Okay, I'm really confused. I've never heard of Shelley Duvall's Rock and Rhymeland. Ever since 1990, I've had a tape labeled Mother Goose Rock and Rhyme. But, it sounds like, from the descriptions I'm reading, that my version is the Rock and Rhymeland version. That doesn't seem to make any sense.

I just bought a VHS to DVD transfer on ebay and it has both versions on it. I'd heard that there was two different versions but had only ever seen the longer version. I really don't like the shorter version. I suppose it's because the longer version is the one that I grew up watching. ^_^ I'm just happy to have a copy of it again.

Things just got interestinger.

See, what is weird is, we have the VHS version from when it actually came out and it has the bouncing ball and lyrics during the Dungeon scene. It is missing Mary quite Contrary and the people are out of order. But, we don't know about the different music during the crooked man scene.
