Why no DVD release?

I cannot believe that this movie is not available on DVD. So much rubbish gets churned out onto DVD on a daily basis, but this one doesn't ever seem to have found it's way onto DVD yet. A ridiculour omission!

This movie is pretty bad. I'm guessing no one wants to spend the money to make a DVD that no one will buy.

Saw this movie on hbo back in 1990, and being 9 or 10 actually thought it was kind of scary. Don't know if my opinion would be the same at 26, but would love for it to resurface one day.

If Two Evil Eyes can be on dvd, then this should be too.

Really? You're comparing this to TEE which at least looks like a professional movie. No matter how bad it is, it's still has two cult directors attached to it, which is obviously gonna sell. That's a fact. Either it's gonna be bought by Argento\Romero completists or people who never saw it are gonna buy it because of those names.

Oh and MGM HD had actually played this maybe 2-3 years back.

"No-one wants to spend the money to make a DVD that no-one will buy"??? - What a silly response!
For one thing, it isn't true that "no-one" would buy it. I would, for a start! And it looks like I'm not the only one.
When movies that really are rubbish (and it's all in the eye of the beholder anyway) get put onto DVD and people actually pay money for them, (I have and subsequently seen some absolute garbage) then I'm sure there would be plenty of people buying "Mom".
Which leads me to another thing. - It all depends on how it's marketed as to how well it sells, most often anyway.
Also, they could perhaps add to the title, as "Mom" just on it's own is liable to get lost when doing a search for it, unless it becomes really well known, and it deserves to.

I've seen some unbelievable tripe, bought on DVD, so abysmal I can't even remember the titles of most of them, yet "Mom" sticks in my memory as being outstanding and different. I can't think of any other movie that is similar, and for that reason alone it should be given a DVD release.

(The same goes for some brilliant kids cartoons, like Ludwig, and Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings, and James the Cat. none of which have DVD releases and yet are far, far better than so much of the rubbish that gets churned out for the masses).

Fact is, people will buy anything if it's marketed in such a way that makes them want to buy it. I just can't understand why the manufacterers choose to release so much rubbish, which is basically all the same as all the other rubbish, when something original and different gets ignored.

How can you hate a vampire movie with Biron James?

This needs to be on a two-fer DVD or one of those "Drive-In Movie" sets.

This and the original The Step-Dad.

It's on instant watch on Netflix - in widescreen too. It's not a bad film, certainly not the worst - but it's amateurish at best. It has an MGM print, so that's why it's not on DVD. They have a large collection and they haven't released many catalog titles in some time.

I've owned this on VHS for probably ten years now. I think it's good, and deserves a DVD release. I hope it could include special features with the surviving cast members, though.
