I'd love to have this movie on DVD, because it's one of my all-time favorites. I don't understand why some movies never make it to DVD.

I found it at a record store for $1.99 on VHS. It's always great to see Louise Lasser and Rue McClanahan, and Karla Devito is delightful here, but frankly, I found the film a bit tedious. 5/10 stars from me.
shareI agree. This movie should be available on DVD. Cute movie with Robby Benson and his wife, Karla DeVito. The DVD would be a fantastic gift for newlyweds and first-time parents.

MODERN LOVE is distributed by Sony Pictures, who ran it on their HD movie channel a year ago in its full aspect ratio, so they must have done a new transfer. You can try to contact Sony to see if they will release it on MOD (manufactured on Demand) and license it to stream on Netflix. I would hope if they took the time to make an HD transfer they might be willing to put it out there in some form.
