Spike mentioned in his "She Hate Me" commentary that he finds child birth a naturally beautiful experience and that's why he shows it in his films. I agree with him although I shared both your sentiments upon seeing the film for the first time.

The birth scene didn't bother me. That it was Spike Lee's sister was downright disturbing.

Ugh! I just saw this movie and then read your comment. That would mean Spike had to see his wife's vagina. That's really GROSS! But that scene was pretty and gross to me.

I didn't mind at all.

It's better graphic then some Hollywood version with rosepetals and fighting cute kittens.

I agree, it added nothing to the story. I could've done without it. I also could've done without crazy ass Rod breaking his own finger. Was that supposed to be funny? Keep it Spike.
