one thing bothers me...

... i.e., the hobbling scene. We see Annie knock Paul's left foot to a crazy ankle, obviously breaking it, and we then see her move to do the same thing to his right foot. Yet after this second, terrible trauma to his lower extremities, we don't see Paul subsequently injured or suffering in any significant way. Maybe they were in a hurry to end the story and didn't want to dwell on Paul going through a second recuperation period. There are even a couple of brief post-hobbling scenes where his feet look perfectly normal. So I wish they'd have given a bit more attention to Annie's deliberate crippling of her love prisoner. The accident was one thing. But Annie's hobbling was quite another - a truly sadistically monstrous act - and the script just kind of passes over it as if it was no big deal at all...

There was a scene where Annie bought him some paper, so he could write a new book.
But Paul complained about it and asked for another type of paper.
Annie got really mad and hit the pack of paper on his damaged feet and Paul screamed in pain.

Why do you keep calling Annie "Misery"?

I corrected it

Well we see his feet in plaster and there has clearly been some passage of time where Buster is continuing his investigation. I suspect a week or two passes after the hobbling before Buster arrives.

Thank god movie Paul doesn’t get the hobbling he received in the book - she chops off one of his legs below the knee, blow-torches the wound shut, and drops his foot in the bin in front of him.
