this was real bad

sorry, i just was uninteredsted in the plot . .. could almost guess everything.
the acting was so bad . . .. and the soundtrak didnt help either.
This is worst than most 1980's movies, the energy being exerted by the actors in any given fight scene is slow and badly scripted.
Good for a laugh only if ya like B movie stars cuz thats where this seems to shine the most.
and yes i am a huge bruce fan . .. i just thought this was real bad.

Bruce Campbell knows how to play anything with a straight face. I love his style and anything that stars Bruce Campbell, I will watch.

reply

Surely the film couldn't be as bad as your grammar and spelling.

don't make fun of his grammar - she's a great ole Gal!

Superficially, it's a bad movie. But it's thematically brilliant. I love the take on Paradise Lost. It made the concepts of heaven and hell less spiritual and realised them in a practical sense that appeals to a secularised society. It reminded me of Jacob's Ladder in that the idea of the afterlife is personal and dependant on one's interpretation of events.

Forget the cheesey Infinisynth technology. Ignore Judy's horrible acting and the excessive ADR grunts and squeals. Don't worry that the Crawlers' legs aren't deformed like the rest of their bodies. Mindwarp goes beyond horror/sci-fi to present a world long imagined by humankind through its uncertainty of the afterlife.

Whatever you do, don't discount Angus Scrimm's performance.

This movie might be bad but at least I was able to sit through it start to finish. Try watching Robot Holocaust once that train wreck makes mindwarp seem like Gone with the wind.

I love Bruce Campbell and Angus Scrimm but I loathed this film. It has to be the worst I've seen to date. Really disappointed. Mr C and Mr S are still legends though - Phantasm, Bubba Ho-Tep and Army Of Darkness rock!

"Hey! Ladies! That was fun!"

I felt the opposite way about the plot. I actually thought it was refreshing to finally have a movie where I really couldn't guess what would happen next, it all seemed to random, it was like a Mindwarp!

And Bruce Campbell is awesome. He is the reason I even watched this movie. Awesome. AND he's a genius.

I, too, thought this movie was great. Bruce Campbell playing a camp part straight. And I love post-apocalypse movies, and sci-fi that is unpredictable. Yeah, the sets were too dark, the other acting was sub-par, but I was intrigued by a movie that didn't have a standard ending. I almost thought that Bruce would snap out of it in the end. The symbolism of the crosses was great, and that life doesn't always turn out like you hoped. Very Adam-and-Eve, getting thrown out of Paradise.

I actually thought the first half was pretty decent for a low-budget, post-apocalyptic flick. Took a nosedive as soon as they went underground though. As far as Bruce Campbell goes, it's definitely not of his better roles. Not too memorable or all that interesting.

reply

Yeah, the second half of the movie was pretty boring, but it had some good ideas, and, I give it a 6/10.
