Queestion about the end.

Angus' character comes forward to Judy at the end that he is the SySOP and he wants Judy to take over his job. She then wakes up and we see a small memorial to her father. Was her Dad being the SySOP just part of a virtual reality? I saw it as from the moment she went under to interrupt her mother, to until she wakes up at the end is all simulated reality. As if the system was trying to calm her down by showing her how horrible it COULD be (not her father). Was her father really dead the entire time, and they just wanted to add that to the end of her experience to lighten her mood? Or is she really now the SySOP?
