Gabriel Byrne in a Fedora

This is an amazing, classic film. I know the hat is such an important part of the story of Miller's Crossing,"nothing looks more foolish than a man chasing his hat", but for me it is for a different reason and I love it! There is not much sexier than a handsome guy in a Fedora and Gabriel Byrne wears it well! Tilted so you can only see one eye, must be a reaction from a past life I lived. I would love to see men wear hats again and not baseball caps! They are incredibly sexy! I know, not in my lifetime, but I can hope and continue watching movies about this era. This film emphasizes it more than any I have ever seen and I definitely get what the Coen brothers were trying to say with all the hats. I can't understand why Miller's Crossing didn't receive every Hollywood award!

I wish fedoras and 3 piece suits would come back again as a common fashion practice. They look fantastic, even bums.

I have 5 fedoras, but sadly don't look as good in them as Mr. Byrne.

This film is vastly underrated. Chinatown is my all-time fave film. Go figure.

You know that JFK killed the men's hat industry when he showed up for his inauguration with a bare head.

It's an interesting fact. A widely-believed fact. But, sadly, an incorrect fact.

I go to the movies more than you.

In Dr No, Connery wore a hat. Never again. I blame it on blow-driers.

Yup, great film.

I've recently taken to wearing a Trilby hat (a fedora just doesn't suit me), and am weaning myself off my Denver Nuggets cap. I was inspired by research I was doing into film noir, and just fell in love with the era and the styles.

If you like that kind of style, check out all the film noir you can :-)
