Good drama-comedy

This movie is good. It has started to grow on me over the years.

I love how crazy and dramatic Winona Rider's character is. She kisses a guy and goes all dramatic. "Help me! I think I'm pregant with the next messiah!" She runs to her mother in the tub for help. She says nothing and her mother thinks she's crazy. She goes to a OB office uner the name Joan Arc. She takes a car, runs away from home singing "Onward Christian soldier", meets a 'perfect' family, and starts telling them all sorts of off the wall things.

It was good contrast when they kept cutting between Winona making out and her younger sister drowning.

A powerful scene is near the end when Cher and Winona are fighting after the drowning accident. It shows Miss Flax does care for her daughter telling her to stay away while she's crazy-angry, so she doesn't do something crazy. I think a fight is sometimes necesary to really move on.

ginger vs. Mary Ann- Mary Ann

Yes! Winona Rider's character was awesome. She was a bit out there, and that was hilarious. But she was also a confused teen...like we all were (or are).

I think she did an excellent job, and she was (for me) the most enjoyable part
of this movie.
:O)

It's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.

I really, really miss Winona in movies. And, yes, definitely Mary Ann.
