Why is this movie named 'Meridian'?

I remember seeing this movie when I was 10 years old on ShowTime, called "Kiss of the Beast". I looked for it at the video store, and saw that it was originally named "Meridian", but I never understood how the movie had anything to do with a line of longitude, or any of the other definitions of "meridian" in the dictionary. Could somebody help me please?

How so? I don't get it...

I've not seen this movie but, someone gave me the poster and so I am looking it up on IMDB. The term "meridian" comes from the Latin meridies, meaning "midday".

Would the symbolism have to do with the imaginary arc/circle or the hours of a day?

I don't think it does, there really wasn't anything significant about a time of day but... I don't know. The man turns into the creature anytime he 'loves'... and that was any time of day in the movie, as there were day and night scenes. He apparently turned into the creature when he was angry too. I don't know, maybe the director has some kind of abstract meaning for it or he just thought it was a pretty word, lol. I'd like to know though, but thanks! The movie/story itself is obviously derivative, it's kind of corny, but the music and scenery is gorgeous, definitely worth a look ;)

Could just mean an imaginary was crossed.

Meridian between man and beast.
