shareNot to mention, as a college gal, it was her family homestead and so she'd surely know where the scissors are located (we all have a scissors drawer, right?). Also -- as you point out -- she'd know where the kitchen knives are. I think the writer/director was implying that she was traumatized by the horrific events to the point of helplessness, similar to Barbra in "Night of the Living Dead," but not quite as bad.
