Yeah. A teacher showed us the film in class for those very reasons.

I'm in the process of watching it, and it suffers from the usual movie problem. All characters, no matter how incidental, are REQUIRED to be male, unless female-ness is relevant to the character's participation in the plot.

So, I wouldn't inflict it on children.
