I'm sorry, but if i put you in charge of my two babies and you leave them alone and they almost burn to death I'm going to have to kill you. I would have punched him and probably never spoken to him again (or it would at least take me a few years to calm down). The fact that they made him look like a hero in the end for running after the guy or that "Stewart is just a bone-head what else can you expect?" attitude is not realistic.

Yes it bugs me that this is not resolved in the end. We have the big fire climax but the fact that Stewart ran out and left the kids unattended, and they could have died in the fire, and Stewart is treated at the end like a hero (at least by Rhona) is kind of annoying. I guess we have to assume it was all handled off-screen, Molly realised Stewart living there was not a good idea and James moved back in.

Well Rhona was proposing they get married and all that and he seemed pretty into her so that's what I guess happened. They got married and moved out and prob away (hence why they are not in third one.)

I always like Stewart to be honest, he seems like a fun guy. A little overboard yes, but he has an epic personality. Plus Elias Koteas playing him didn't hurt either. He enjoyed the kids and had fun with them and he had great intentions when he defended the place against the burglar.

But he handled it so bad. He left the oven mitt or whatever it was on the stove that was a stupid and a violation of common sense. Plus he just forgot about the kids, that was risky. Thank goodness Mikey had enough sense to get him and Julie out of there or it would have been bad.
