This is so ridiculous!

My guess - it's 22 years old, it didn't do great at the box office, for all its power (imo) it focused too much on the Sissy Spacek character. Honestly, I didn't quite buy that she switched so quick from quiet housewife to involved activist. I also didn't buy the scene at the end where the singing women shamed the white rednecks into backing down. It was satisfying, but on one level I was let down by it.
