The TV show the mom is watching while the boys kill their victims

Violet is watching a documentary about the WWII and the kids being sent off to the country to save their lives. Was this true for the Kray brothers? Is the film trying to show that one reason the Krays were all crazy was because of the horrors they lived through in the war? Yet none served a minute of combat time.

The film portrayed WWII as a big stain on their lives. I am sure the Germans bombed that section. then the v-1 and V-2 rocket right up to the end.

The English lived through 7 years of austerity after that.

No wonder they enjoyed the swinging sixties. But, at the end of the film, their own particular party was over.
