Caruso ruined it

As soon as I saw him I knew his cheesy acting would ruin the movie and it did

reply

Totally disagree. This was when he WAS a good actor before he became cheese central in CSI Miami.

reply

Agreed. This was the first film I'd seen him in and I was surprised that he had such a bad rep. Liked him in Session 9 as well.

reply

Nah - early Caruso like this, Mad Dog and Glory, Jade, and NYPD Blue are gold. It was the CSI paycheck slumming that destroyed him.

reply

Xactly right

reply

Caruso was great in this.

reply

Caruso was great indeed.

Wesley Snipes was a complete ham in this...

reply

Not at all Wesley Snipes was a reserved black cop in an Irish setting

reply

Amen! Caruso was so great back then! Such a loss that he fouled up his career like he did.

reply

I agree, I didn't know Caruso was in this but as soon as I saw his name I knew he'd ruin it with his corny *beep* like he does everything he's in, and yes he ruined Session 9 too.

reply

Oh. My. Gosh! Honestly? David Caruso was one of the most promising actors EVER until he quit "NYPD Blue" and lost his film career. By the time he was on "CSI Miami," he was William-Shatner-level joke.

reply

I thought he was fine in this

reply

Me too
His star seems to have fizzled out years ago but he could be quite good

reply

I've seen parts of this when I was way too young to be watching this back in the day and I just watched it all the way through recently. I have to agree that Caruso's performance was over the top and not that great but I wouldn't say it was enough to ruin the movie. I was more disappointed by how lamely underused Wesley Snipes was as basically Caruso's sidekick.

reply

I thought he was good in this, there’s definitely elements in this performance that were brought back for his NYPD Blue character.

Caruso was good in the early 90s, check him out in Mad Dog and Glory, he completely steals the show even alongside Robert De Niro and Bill Murray.

reply

They were all over the top!
