We have passed from the ridiculous to the absurd. There is now no movie that they will not find something to complain about.

reply

I'd say we're already well into the dangerous at this point...

reply

This is absurd. People are no longer allowed to decide for themselves what to watch. If one person is somehow offended by a film or TV programme, then no-one should be allowed to watch it. It's completely unfair to the people who: 1) see no problem with the movie (the majority of movie watchers) and 2) the people who want to see, but have not yet seen the film.

I still have the DVD!!! #beatingcancelculture

reply

I still have it on DVD too. Frankly if they outlaw it, I am going to go to jail and tell the hardcore leftists they are the ones in the wrong.

reply

lol I'm a leftist. I just find cancel culture funny. I also bought Kindergarten Cop 2 at 711 for $4 just because I saw Dolph Lundgren on the cover. Didn't watch it yet, though. Didn't even know they made a 2nd one until I saw it at 711.

The line about "police criminating kids" is stupid since that isn't even something that happens in the movie.

reply

The only thing 2 things I can think of that was questionable (in regards to police, haven't seen the movie in a few years) is in the beginning when he walks into the drug den with his shotgun and shoots it off randomly, even though it is a funny scene. That is taking advantage of power, but that scene could also be a satire of a cop, too.

And the other scene where he hits the Zack's father, which is kind of what Hank did in Breaking Bad to Jesse and Hank even knew he stepped out of line with that one. We can understand Kimble's/Hank's frustration but you gotta be more careful as a cop.

Other than that, which are minor quibbles, I don't see the big deal. Certainly not enough to stop it being shown at a drive-in.

reply

All they did was not show it at a film festival. The movie is still widely available.

reply

I was more talking about the woman Lois Laveen who not only said it was wrong to show it at the film festival but insists it should be against the law for anyone to watch it at all period. And she says the movie Gone with the Wind should also be against the law to watch.

I feel that is taking things too far and also feel the whole thing with all these entertainment organizations giving into her and some small group of other peoples' demands is just pandering to the minority.

reply

Sounds like Laveen needs to get herself as stoned as possible and shut the hell up.

reply

I don't think people should get stoned but that's just me. I would never smoke Marijuana.

reply

She should rather get herself stoned Sharia style
