What's the difference between the pg 12 version and the 15 version?

I have seen the pg version and the 12 version of this film but i never seen the 15 version but how different is the pg version and 12 version compared too the 15 version.

It really seems dumb that in the UK they edit rated R movies so the graphic violence is no longer and rate it PG-15. Yet also edit out the violence in PG-13 films and rate it PG-12. Then to get the actual American cut you have to be 15. I'm glad I don't live there.
