Anyone else freaked out by this film? For some reason scenes from this film scared me. The first was when the old guy slowly wheeled over to the kid to try and kill him. That was just creepy. And then the kid. He reminded me of Jason or Micheal Myers by just being a cold, emotionless violent kid. I thought it was creepy. Anyone else?

shareYeah I actually got creeped out. I saw this movie about 5 or 6 years ago when I was in high school. I borrowed it at random from the library. I thought the kid at the end when he is a teenager was quite scary - I remember him being this figure who said nothing and ended up killing his real father.
Zhang Yimou surely does love to convey messages in his films, and they are subtle so you have to think about what he is trying to say sometimes.
