My GF and I attempted to watch the HD stream version on Netflix and the film has not help up well. The CGI was so terrible and was in desperate need of restoration.

Restoration doesn't mean a complete changing of scenes and adding footage. Look at how they restored the original Star Trek series for Blu-Ray. It didn't hurt the original show at all.

I agree the movie needs to be restored. I watched it on HBO this week and I thought it looked horrible. It desperately needs a restoration. And the dark scenes are really way too dark.

What about it looked horrible?
I can't watch most of the newer CGI cartoons. I like older hand drawn cartoons.

no not a complete overhaul, But the CGi and animation could benefit from some work.
