Love how 50s the 1960 portion looked and how 80s the 1990 portion looked

Way to compliment the original novel, in contrast to the 2017 one, which was the late 80s and mid 2010s.

The miniseries is set in 1960 and 1990, but you could easily change it to 1958 and 1985, without any differences.

Another movie that was set in 1960 was Peggy Sue Got Married (1986) and you could easily mistaken the year for 1959, instead.

The miniseries is set in the 50's, not the 60's.

It's hard to tell, to be honest. But does it really matter, as long as the difference between time periods is 27 years? The makers of the Muschietti IT movies didn't think so, and to be honest, there's more nostalgia in the 1980s than the 1950s anyway, Stranger Things taught us that, and that's a related show I love as well as the Muschietti IT movies.

Actually Georgie's tombstone reads "Born, 1954" and "Died, 1960" when Bill first revisits Derry, as an adult. I guess we could still consider 1960 a part of the 50s, the same way 1990 is still considered a part of the 80s.
