Pennywise's accent

I love Tim Curry's old school American accent in this movie. He sold the emotion of the clown so well.

The thing that annoys me most about the way he speaks in this movie is the fact it's inconsistent.

For example:
Listen to his voice in the Georgie scene, and listen to it again in the Library scene.

"I, Georgie, am Pennywise the Dancing Clown" - Here the voice is unique. Creepy and gravelly.
vs.
"Do you have Prince Albert in a can? You DO?! Well ya better let the poor guy out! WaHA WaHA WaHA!" - Here he sounds like regular Tim Curry talking like a goofball.

He's taking the form of a performing clown. Why should a clown be consistent and not a goofball?

Does it annoy you that this monster/ghost doesn't look consistently the same either?

He was using his goofy clown voice in the library scene, mocking Richie the comedian. It wasn't an accent change at all.

Overall I thought the way Curry spoke, through IT, was pretty damn good !

I agree that as a clown he probably has a few different voices etc.
