Would you have found Richie funny?

Or flat-out annoying?

I found young Richie pretty funny, but adult Richie was nothing but annoying. He spent the entire second half of the movie talking about how he was leaving. Harry Anderson is a great comedian, but I didn't like him in this movie because he wasn't that funny.

So far, so good.

I LOVED what he did to the bullies, I laughed out loud.
I would have cherished that kind of weird, courageous, and funny friend for life.

I found the adult portrayals pretty poor in general to be honest. They were completely upstaged by the younger versions of themselves, especially Brandis' performance.

I like that they toned Richie down from the book. In the novel he talks as characters way to much and is distracting.

The scary clown doll is hiding under my bed.

agreed. I may find the TV Richie funny or sympathetic, the novel one is truly annoying and definitely not funny

reply

Funny. I was a class clown as a kid and as a teen I was often friends with the class clowns. Richie was one of my favorites.

reply

I thought he was hilarious.

Adult Richie especially on the tv show (where he starts his story) his act looks very boring & stupid, I.e. A dinosaur eating the city?????
Looks crap
