A Load Of Utter Rubbish!

I HATED this movie adaptation of Stephen King's brilliant novel IT. I have watched this film now a few times as I have tried so hard to like it - yet I just cannot get into it at all. Unlike the book, which was a real scary and gripping read, this TV movie is just so slow, boring and dull. Also, they disappointingly left quite a lot of the book out as they condensed this epic work into a 3-hour snooze fest of their own. And as for Pennywise - well, sadly, he was more laughable than frightening.

I just hope the new reboot of IT will do the novel more justice, unlike this 1990 piece of celluloid garbage.

Have just put this Blu Ray of IT on ebay, if anybody is interested. You are quite welcome to it. I hated it.

If it's so terrible, why have you watched it "a few times?"

I intend to live forever.
So far, so good.

Strongly disagree with the OP. The novel is my favorite, but the miniseries is still a solid adaptation with a great and creepy performance from Tim Curry. If you're able to separate the two mediums, you will enjoy this.

It was not my favorite mini-series or even King adaptation, but I thought it was decent. While there were a few changes I thought it followed the novel reasonably well.

I liked it.

As far as TV movies go it's alright. But as an adaptation of King's massive but enormously entertaining novel it leaves a lot to be desired.

There was much from the novel that the series had to leave out.
