this movie ROCKS!!!

One of the few really good martial arts movies
that has a good message to it, covering
the art dedication and what not, instead of just fighting and violence.

this is one of those movies that they should make the kids
watch in high school.

authentic and realistic

you won't see any typical hollywood scripting here,
many of the details are subtle and you really have to think about
things and place yourself in their shoes to understand what
happened.

its not bang I shoot the bad guy and save the girl, live happily ever after.

I saw this movie on TV when I visited my relatives in California in the '90s. I was fascinated by the training scenes and I was already a huge martial arts fan at that time.

I thought this movie was interesting. We had to watch it in class (they do show it in school!) and i was a little confused. was it meant to be a love story, a martial arts movie, or just an auto biography? Ming was really pretty. And i thought the martial arts was amazing.

what class did you see it in. I went to school in Indiana at Pike high school. Mr. Ren showed it in Chinenes class.

I've had the good fortune of being on of Master Pan's students many years ago. He now runs a school in the smallish city of Kitchener Ontario, in Canada, and studying under him was one of te greatest experiences of my life! The man has a great sense of humor & a very stoic demeanor when instructing anyone in the martial arts - very insistant that one has a solid piritual base before fighting techniques are even touched on.

I liked this film mainly because of him - let's face it - for Salzman to play himself was a brave choice, but he was rather wooden in the movie. Pan on the other hand already had years of film experience under his many belts prior to tghis venture, so he read well on screen.

I really liked this movie!
An athipycal martial arts film, when the interesting is the philosophycal part.
Very recommendable!
