What a cast!

This film strives to be a "Network," but it falls very short in my book. It has too many melodramatic moments, many of the scenes are overdirected, and I could do without the romantic subplot.

But the superb cast makes it worthwhile: Albert Finney (channeling Peter Finch), John Mahoney, Marsha Mason, Kathy Baker, Swoosie Kurtz, the dearly departed Wendy Jo Sperber and even a pre-"Thelma & Louise" Brad Pitt. That's quite an impressive lineup for a cable movie.
