They left this wide open for a sequel!

I always felt that they left this film wide open with the way that the film ended because we see Prof. Buchanan reaching for the left over red material that was shredded. Anthony Perkins would have been perfect to play the serial killer in the sequel if they would have done one. I feel that Prof. Buchanan could have been possessed by the red cloth. Does anyone else agree with me on this?

Thanks! I will definitely have to check that out. It is a shame that they did not get the sequel to I'm Dangerous Tonight with Anthony Perkins before he passed away because I think it would have been better in my opinion with him in the sequel.
