Any american bashing books or movies like this?

these types of movies always portray the United States as the good guy but are there any books or movies where they are the bad guys and a country like Russia is the good guy?

Most U.S. "war movies" are completely anti-war and seek to question the notion of patriotism.

Here's a Russian one about Russians in Afghanistan.

If you want to go back to the age of sail, the Aubrey–Maturin series of books, by Patrick O'Brian, take place during the War of 1812. The British Navy is considered to be the good guys and the US Navy is considered to be the bad guys. Although the books are set in 1812, when the "Master and Commander" movie was made, the American film makers set the film 7 years earlier, in time (1805) and made the French the bad guys.

Have you ever seen The Young Lions starring Marlon Brando? In it, Brando plays a Nazi and is essentially the hero of the film. It doesn't endorse Nazi ideals (he comes around to a different way of thinking), but nevertheless...the Americans in the film come across as buffoons...so, it's not exactly the same, but it is a refreshing take that challenges certain stereotypes. And its final message about the futility of war is poignant.

The Americans are the good guys, particularly when they opposed the worldwide spread of communism backed by the USSR.
