A credibility issue

Didn't notice any drugs or alcohol at the party, something I'd expect in a similar themed movie that was a sanitized PG, but I would expect to see drinking or drug use in an R rated teen comedy like this. Still because the movie is hilarious I'm not complaining too loudly.

Also the sex scene where they stopped themselves because they didn't have a condom. Not realistic at all, felt more like an after-school special. Definitely the whole thing was very sanitized.

umm ive NOT had sex because we had no protection when i was in high school! i graduated in 09 so it wasnt that long ago, there are teens back then and now that believe no condom no sex.

How is your personal high school experience nearly 20 years after the film takes place relevant?

reply

The other persons story about sex 2009 may not be in good timing but I know that my husband and I were dating in 95 and got married 8 months later to keep from having premarital sex so the movie wasn't unrealistic to me.(btw,we've been married 18 years now,lol

Redeux006. I agree, & if they didn't have sex, they would have been kissing & heavy petting. alone. in a nice comfortable bed? lights out? yeeeah rite!

There was that one drunk guy. They left him at his house, rang the doorbell, ran, and then he fell face-first. LOL

Believe it or not, there are kids back in 1990 and 2013 who just want ot have a good time and party and are actually responsible when sex is involved. May not see it too much these days but there are still some kids out there with decent morals.

I loved this movie because it was very similar to my life. This is how we partied. No drugs or alcohol. We managed to get into plenty of trouble but drugs and drinking were not part of our fun. This movie came out when I was in high school.

I don't know why I raised my hand.

Went to high school in the 70s. There were parties where there was no alcohol or drugs and parties where they were in abundance. You had to know which was which and attend accordingly.

you must've missed the part before the dance off. The guy they carried home was guzzling a beer.

glad they showed at least 1 person drinking. but when I was under aged, there were a few that drank, & when offered I said no. there will be a handful in that age group. not everybody. but a few drinking.
