shareYou will note that Jennifer was born in December of 1970. The Hot Spot was released in 1990. Most films are shot the year prior to release. So during filming (mid to late 1989), Jennifer was probably still 18 years old. That is to say, barely legal to appear in this film in the nude beach scene.
IMHO, that picture is one of the sexiest shots ever put on film. To be that well developed at that age with that face... well, always will be a big fan of hers.

There is some controversy regarding the fact that a body double is credited in "Once Upon a Time in America" It is a convenient way to get around the fact that Jen was only 12 at the time.
Europeans have a much more enlightened view of nudity and sexuality than repressed Americans. Sergio Leone was a perfectionist in every film that he ever made. It is doubtful that young Jen would have any objections. She has shown a lot more than her little tush in many of her other films.
I agree, she is way to thin. Unfortunately she and almost every other hollywood actress has decided that in order to get work when they reach their thirties, that they have to stop eating and or become vegans. It is really sad, because she is one of the most beautiful girls to ever be put on film. She is 4 years younger than myself, but being that thin actually makes her look much older. I think a big part of the problem in hollwood is that in order to be taken seriously as an actress, one has to get rid of the sex pot image; what better way to do that than to look emicated all the time.

..and Hopper used her so beautifully in this film letting us all see what we wanted to. He is so in touch with the viewer. That's what I love about Hopper. He reads my mind. Connelly is a beautiful woman and this films does justice to her beauty. Hopper loves and understands women. So impressed with his film!

she did an obscure movie with John Cusack where they are locked in a Target store overnight and she looks equally great. I agree her current ultrathin look is much less compelling.

The movie is Career Opportunities and she was in it with Frank Whaley, not John Cusack. It came out a year after The Hot Spot.
