It is a 30 year old movie after all.

reply

And saying that makes me feel old. 30 years?! Well technically 29, but it does make me sad to think of so much time passing.

reply

Haha yeah I still have a hard time to believe that the 90s were 20 years ago.

reply

1999 was 20 years ago. I can still remember what the internet was for me back then.

1) checking news sites
2) forums such as the Sony BBS
3) emailing my two penpals
4) following Michael Jackson fan sites to hear about his album he was making

I had no phone yet. Still using the landline.

reply

Oh yeah, 90s' internet... how can we forget!

reply

Yes, dialup. It could take over a minute to load a page!

reply

my friend had 14.4 K modem and I had a 56K modem and he was like, "I can't wait to come over and see how fast it is!" lol

reply

Yeah, I can remember seeing this in the theater.
It doesn't feel like much time has passed.

reply

It depends on your age I guess. I was only 6-7 years old in 1990 so it feels like an eternity ago for me. 1999 on the other hand doesn´t feel like it was 20 years ago.

reply

Aside from John Candy, there's nothing too odd about any of this.

reply

Well John Heard's death was kind of tragic. If he had just stayed in the hospital he would probably still be alive.

reply

I don't know a lot about his death. Supposedly his surgery wasn't related to his heart attack. I guess if he was under close care it would have given him a better chance but was there something more to this?

reply

As I understand it, he checked himself out of the hospital against medical advise and went to a hotel to recover on his own. There were complications and no one was there to help him.

reply

Damn that seems totally avoidable. What a shame.

reply

Agree, Candy and Heard were the only two out of the six who died before their time. I remember Billy Byrd more as the grandma from Sixteen Candles. She was funny. Sad that she suffered from Alzheimers though.
