I mean Kevin was just defending his house. Had they left his house alone, Kevin wouldn't have bothered them. Kevin couldn't call the police because after he accidentally stole the toothbrush, he was too afraid to call the police.

shareNobody knew his name lol this was 1990 with no security cameras. Besides, he could've told Marley at the church about the robbers and they could've called the cops together. Cops wouldn't have recognized him just based on "some kid stole a toothbrush." And even if they knew it was him, I'm sure they'd go easy on him considering they just got the wet bandits.

I know the movie wouldn't be fun, that's why they need to have circumstances where it isn't solved as if it's real life. But, that doesn't mean we can't point out how simple the movie would be if it was real life.
