Home Alone and The Purge happen in the same universe!!!

I'm pretty sure that someone had this idea before and have already post something like this, but here it goes: Home Alone events happen during a Purge and here is why:

1) They leave the states as a family to get away from all this.
They kept the Purge secret from the youngest kids and that's why Kevin thinks they went away just for Christmas. That's why they gathered up under the same roof, not only to leave for the trip but to also be safer until the purge starts. That's also why everyone in the block are in "vacations", what are the chances of everyone in your block or apartment building leave for Christmas?

2)The police doesn't bother.
When Kevin's mom calls, there only a couple of cops there and they don't really care, it's your responsibility to be safe during the Purge and they have to hide for the night themselves. That's why they just check the house and leave, otherwise they would even knock the door down to find the kid, but with the upcoming Purge, they have better things to do and it could be a prank. They only just after the Purge night is over.

3)The Wet Bandits should have been easily caught otherwise.
Those two idiots kept robbing houses but they were never caught? It's because people evacuate to other countries as earlier as possible, so they don't get caught in a huge traffic just before the Purge. That's why they find all these houses such an easy pray.

4)Kevin's family is bulling him and he is violent himself.
He was raised during the Purge years and that's why his parents don't give a damn, they have to think the whole year how to escape the Purge. Kevin is raised in a stressful environment, where a little bulling is no big deal, compared to what happens if you get caught in the country while the Purge is going on. So, he is practically making deadly traps, it's the norm and he doesn't even realise he could kill people.

5)Only his mom goes back to get him.
If someone forgot his kid at home during a trip overseas, probably the whole trip would be canceled in seconds. But during the Purge, it's certain suicide to go back, so the dad stays so the kids would at least have one parent. They could leave the other kids with the family and both parents go back, but no, only Kevin's mom loves him so much, that's she would defy death to get back to him during the onslaught. The dad considers him dead or wants to stay alive and have a better chance to keep feeding the family.

6)The band the mom rides with, travel around to get away from the Purge.
Or are even a gang of killers themselves, they carry the guns with their musical instruments.

7)Old man Marley had a fight with his family because he didn't want to leave his home undefended.
You only stay back if you are poor (like the supermarket clerk or the pizza boy) or if you want desperately to defend your house, that's why Marley is the only neighbor around.

I haven't watch the movie since last Xmas so I guess I must be missing something but it's a funny way to see the whole thing.
Have fun and a Happy Christmas!

I have to say this is a killer scenario. And I'm glad you pointed out the fact that the father didn't seem to care as much as his mother did.
